The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Hollywood style

In 2008, a fairly unknown author’s trilogy was translated into English and several other languages. Millennium is the trilogy of the past decade and is comprised by three breathtaking books: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl who Played with Fire and The Girl who kicked the Hornet’s nest. The Girl with the Dragon TattooThe magnificence of the work is only tinged with real drama when we find out that the author of the book wasn’t able to see his master-piece published, since he passed away in 2004.

The Girl with the Dragon TattooAll three books have already been made into movies which were released in 2009 by Yellow Bird, a Swedish film company.

But now, Hollywood slaps all of the European film industry with an open hand with a version of the movie which unsurprisingly seems identical to the Swedish one. Released in the USA this past weekend (16/12/2011), starring Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara, will be hitting European theatres on 13/01/2012.

The Big Bang Theory’s Theory

The Big Bang Theory’s TheoryRemember that group of boys/girls who were always reading, studying and handing in a sick note for their gym class when you were at school? Who would have thought that one of those boys/girls would be running a multinational company or even be your boss today?

The Big Bang Theory tells the story of four boys who once belonged to that group. Four really brilliant “nerds”, whose experience with women, fun and physical activity can be summed up in a night at home playing Zelda on the Wii.The Big Bang Theory’s Theory

These four wouldn’t be anything, if not for the presence of their extremely beautiful and carefree neighbour, “Penny, Penny, Penny”.

4 seasons have made this Tv show one of the most watched shows today, making each and every episode a priceless particle from a collision in the LHC.

El tiempo entre costuras, an American Best Seller

Maria Dueñas - El tiempo entre costurasMaria Dueñas has written one of the most compelling stories of the decade. Her book “El tiempo entre costuras” (The Couturiere) has undoubtedly become an instant classic. The book has been translated into a few languages and English is one of them and it has already garnered success of its own.

The book which describes the story of a seamstress and how she grows to become a respected figure in society not only in Spain and all set in a time where political unrest due to the Civil War and WWII is lurching in the background.

The book is a must-read and a hard-to-put-down. Take your time between seams and get your hands on this wonderful book as soon as possible.

Versace for H&M

Versace for H&M Who would actually think that 2011 was going to be the year where haute-couture would end up “downgrading” to low-cost wear. Since June 2011, H&M and Versace have come together to create a different line, somewhere in between low-cost and luxury. The Italian designer company did design a line for the Fall/Winter season and very soon will be delivering the Spring/Summer collection. It was catwalked a couple of weeks ago in New York.

Versace for H&M Citrus colours, whites, leathers all in vintage and 60’s-like dresses and suits will be the new trend-setting collection that the two fashion giants will put together.

Watch a few of the designs here.
