The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Hollywood style
In 2008, a fairly unknown author’s trilogy was translated into English and several other languages. Millennium is the trilogy of the past decade and is comprised by three breathtaking books: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl who Played with Fire and The Girl who kicked the Hornet’s nest.
The magnificence of the work is only tinged with real drama when we find out that the author of the book wasn’t able to see his master-piece published, since he passed away in 2004.
All three books have already been made into movies which were released in 2009 by Yellow Bird, a Swedish film company.
But now, Hollywood slaps all of the European film industry with an open hand with a version of the movie which unsurprisingly seems identical to the Swedish one. Released in the USA this past weekend (16/12/2011), starring Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara, will be hitting European theatres on 13/01/2012.
